Corrections policy

If we get a material fact wrong, we correct it. If we word something poorly or leave out context that changes reader understanding, we clarify it. We do not silently rewrite substantive errors without updating the timestamp or note when a correction is warranted.

Material corrections

For mistakes involving names, dates, quotes, numbers, legal status, election status, or the core premise of a story, we update the article and note the correction plainly.

Clarifications

For wording that is imprecise but not fully wrong, we may revise the article and add a clarification when readers would reasonably benefit from it.

How to contact us

Send correction requests or documentation through our contact page. Include the story URL, the claim you believe is wrong, and supporting material if you have it.
